CURRENT COURSE AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS FOR THE LIMES CICERONES OF THE DLK ®

The present course and examination regulations have been introduced with the aim of standardising training and further development as ‘Limes Cicerones of the German Limes Commission’, the specialist content of which is specified by the members of the Commission on a transnational basis.

Particular emphasis is placed on teaching the fundamental provincial Roman history, on the monument conservation requirements for the World Heritage Site and on the methods of mediation work.

After successful training and examination, all participants receive a certificate that recognises them as trained tour guides for the Limes. The designation ‘Limes Cicerona/e of the German Limes Commission’ has been registered with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office since 2016.
