ASSOCATION FOR THE PROTECTION AND RESEARCH OF THE LIMES IN GERMANY e. V. (VSELD) 

To support the inter-state work and the German Limes Commission (DLK), the leading archaeologists in each of the federal states involved with the Limes have founded the Association for the Protection and Research of the Limes in Germany e. V. 

I. The purpose of the association is:

1. The promotion of scientific research of the Limes in Germany
2. The support for Monument protection and preservation measures along the Limes
3. The promotion of the Limes as an exceptional archaeological monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site
4. The support for international scientific research projects
5. The support for projects relating to the mediation or promotion of the Limes with international cooperation partners

II. The aims and tasks of the association are based on the administrative agreement of the German Limes Commission (DLK) from 10/13 January 2003.

III. The statutory purpose is to be realised through:

1.The awarding of scholarships, the organisation of scientific events and research projects, the implementation of surveys, the development of archives, the establishment and maintenance of related databases and publication activities
2. Supporting the DLK and the responsible State Monument Offices in carrying out regular inspections and inventories of the monument in line with UNESCO monitoring guidelines
3. Conceptual advice on visualisation and measures to improve the value of the monument, the promotion of analogue and virtual mediation offers regarding the Limes
4. The implementation of international scientific events and research projects
5. The establishment and maintenance of a joint international web presence for the "Frontiers of the Roman Empire"

Founded in 2015 and entered into the Register of Associations at Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe local court. The Association's office is located in the DLK office in Saalburg, Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe.
