MEMBERS OF THE GERMAN LIMES COMMISSION

The DLK is composed of a total of 12 members: The state archaeologist as well as one ministerial representative from each of the participating states (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate), a representative of the universities holding a chair in “Archaeology of the Roman Provinces”, the chairman of the “Committee of Roman Museums on the Limes in Germany”, a representative of the Roman-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute, and the chairman of the association of the municipalities and communities along the Limes belonging to the “German Limes Road Association”. The LVR Office for the Preservation of Archaeological Monuments in Rhineland sends a representative to the meetings of the German Limes Commission as a permanent, non-voting guest.
