10th Colloquium of the German Limes Commission
After the two-year cycle had to be suspended due to the pandemic, this year we are resuming the organisation of our Limes Colloquium, in which the latest research findings and individual aspects of the Limes will be presented. We are pleased to announce that the 10th colloquium of the German Limes Commission (DLK) in cooperation with the LVR Office for the Preservation of Archaeological Monuments in the Rhineland, the Archaeological Institute (Archaeology of the Roman Provinces) of the University of Cologne and the Romano-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute will take place on
Thursday, the 14th and Friday, the 15th of September 2023 at the University of Cologne (WiSo Building, Lecture Hall XXIV, René-König Lecture Hall, in Building 101).
In addition to the lectures on the latest research on the Limes, we would like to take the opportunity during an afternoon block to remember Prof. C. Sebastian Sommer, who made a significant contribution towards the borders of the Roman Empire being recognised by UNESCO as a unique World Heritage Cluster.
The registration deadline is 31 July 2023. Unfortunately, we can no longer consider further registrations. We are looking forward to 130 registered participants.
